EcoPlus Inc. Products & Services

Technology and Products

EcoPlus offers this turnkey solution on two levels.

The first is the complete, final processing facility, which converts the oils and grease to a solid. This processing facility incorporates the EcoPlus technology (U.S. Patent No. 7,384,562).

The second is a smaller, simpler, dewatering plant that would be located 60 miles or more from the final processing facility, and which can concentrate oils and grease collected by local service operators from restaurants and other sources (such collection generally done across the United States by independent operators). The dewatered, concentrated oils and grease will be trucked to final processing.

The concept exhibits a hub and spoke geometry. The remotely distributed dewatering facilities contribute to the overall utility of the final (or central) processing operation. EcoPlus will sell and arrange financing and construction of both types of plants.

Construction and Delivery

EcoPlus will fully facilitate the plant construction. The final processing plants that produce the end-product solids will be nearly exact copies of the operating plant in Charlotte, North Carolina.

  • The plants use either off-the-shelf components, or parts easily manufactured by any well equipped custom fabricator.
  • Reagents used in the process are specialized but readily available.
  • Power requirements are modest and require no highly specialized installations.

The remote dewatering plants are exceedingly simple and use a well-established process for decanting excess water, yielding a more concentrated grease product that can be efficiently shipped to a final processing plant.
In most cases the acquiring entity will also be the plant’s operator, though EcoPlus will provide comprehensive training.

Financing Options

EcoPlus has relationships with select leasing groups that have the experience and resources to provide financing to public entities. Using accepted public entity lease analyses, the plants and accompanying technology are, or are very close to being, self financing through the use of offsets and tipping fees.
The concept of offsets means shifting or reallocating the savings generated by using the EcoPlus technology to the financing of the utility’s or municipality’s acquisition of the plant. The savings can be identified in the areas of:

  • Reduced maintenance costs attributable to oil and grease effects in sewer system and treatment plants
  • Reduced repair costs attributable to oil and grease effects in sewer system and treatment plants
  • Improved discharge compliance
  • Reduced regulatory fines
  • Reduced management costs attributable to FOG issues
  • Revenue from the BTU content of the final product
